F4 Australian Championship Round 1 The Bend Motorsport Park

Formula 4 returns to Australia at The Bend Motorsport Park, 4 – 6 May!

The F4 Australian Championship certified by the FIA returns to the track this weekend at The Bend Motorsport Park!

The eleven entries from AGI Sport, JAM Motorsport and Formula Race Academy will see John-Paul Drake (M), Mark Wilson (M), Nicolas Stati, Sebastien Amadio, Seth Gilmore (R), Blake Purdie, Nathan Gotch (M), Mark Rosser (M), Nicholas Filipetto (M), Joanne Ciconte (R), and James Piszcyk behind the wheel.

Stati raced in F4 South East Asia and UAE with AGI Sport last season, while Piszcyk took part in the F4 Trophy Race with Hitech GP at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in 2022, and the British F4 Championship in 2023 where he secured two pole positions and two race wins to finish the season inside the top five.

Two drivers, Ciconte and Gilmore, are eligible for the Rookie Cup, while five are in the Masters class – John-Paul Drake, Mark Wilson, Mark Rosser, Nathan Gotch and Nicholas Filipetto.

There will be a total of three 25-minute (+1 lap) races across the weekend.

The category gives drivers a way to compete and contest in an  FIA certified open wheel category in Australia, with four rounds in the country and a season finale at Sepang International Circuit, a Category 1 former Formula 1 track, with the same Tatuus F4 T421 GEN2 used internationally.

For the first time, the top five drivers after the third round of
the Top Speed-run 2024 Formula 4 Australian Championship
will be invited to attend Sepang for the five-day Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy Asia Pacific and Oceania Selection Program event, provided they meet the selection criteria.
